To assist you in the planning of your program, we recommend purchasing Road Scholar Trip Cancellation, Interruption & Travel Delay Insurance to help protect your program investment.

Trip Cancellation: Reimburses up to your total trip cost for Road Scholar cancellation penalties or unused arrangements (including airfare costs even if your airfare is purchased independently of Road Scholar) if you need to cancel your trip because of a covered reason such as: unexpected illness, injury or death to you, your traveling companion or a member of your or your traveling companion's immediate family; or you or your traveling companion are called to jury duty or subpoenaed, or directly involved in a documented traffic accident en route to the departure.

In addition, if you are delayed in reaching your program due to a covered reason, and you are caused to miss more than 50% of your program, you may cancel outright and be reimbursed your non-refundable program costs.

Trip Interruption: Reimburses up to your total trip cost for unused, non-refundable land or sea expenses as well as the airfare paid, less the value of applied credit from an unused return travel ticket, to return to your city of residence if you need to interrupt for covered reasons such as illness, injury, or death to you, your traveling companion, or a member of your or your traveling companion's immediate family.

Travel Delay/Missed Connection: If you miss the departure of your trip due to carrier-caused delays or other covered reasons, the insurance will reimburse you up to $1,000 per person ($200/day) for any missed arrangements, "catch-up" transportation expenses or additional accommodations and meals.

Pre-Existing Condition Exclusion Waiver: Like most travel insurance policies, this insurance contains a pre-existing condition exclusion. However, the Pre-Existing Condition exclusion will be WAIVED if you purchase the insurance as soon as possible, but no later than 5 days after your final program payment is due to Road Scholar.

Travel Insurance is underwritten by Stonebridge Casualty Insurance Company an AEGON company, Columbus, Ohio; NAIC # 10952 (all states except as otherwise noted) under policy/certificate Form series TAHC5000. In CA, HI, NE, NH, PA, TN and TX policy/certificate Form series TAHC5100 and TAHC5200. In IL, IN, KS, LA, OR, OH, VT, WA and WY Policy Form #'s TAHC5100IPS and TAHC5200IPS. Certain coverages are under series TAHC6000 and TAHC7000.
